DUCK HUNTIG |
||
|
In Argentina there are more than 20 species of wild ducks, out of which it is possible to hunt 14 in the areas where we operate. Unlike what happens in the northern hemisphere, these ducks are not migrating birds. They live all the year round in extensive areas, moving along according to the water conditions and food availability. In order to satisfy our clients best, we have chosen two completely different areas as bases of our duck hunting programs. |

Victoria, Entre Ríos Province |

Located over the Paraná River, 230 miles North West of Buenos Aires City, this is one of the favorite areas for duck hunters. We usually hunt over decoys from individual blinds made up of natural vegetation in the nearby islands. These are reached after a short navigation in fast motorboats. Our guides have a deep knowledge of the zone and they scout it regularly in order to spot the best shooting places. Here we may easily find eight different types of ducks (White Faced Tree Ducks, Brazilian Teal, Rosy Billed Pochard, Brown Pintail, Bahaman Pintail, Ringed Teal, Speckled Teal and Silver Teal). It is completely normal to get at least five of them in a sortie depending on seasons and weather conditions. Our clients take lodgings in Estancia (ranch) “Las Margaritas”, only twenty minutes away from the pier. The house is cozy and comfortable, with 5 double rooms and all the necessary elements for well being that a good family home provides, such as excellent cooking. The ranch owners will usually be around to host our clients with the well-known local hospitality |

PEHUAJO - BUENOS AIRES |

Pehuajó, Buenos Aires Province In this area we hunt over decoys from blinds in the innumerable small fresh water ponds that can be found both in “Santa Rita” and in the neighboring ranches. These are no more than half an hour drive from the ranch house. The landowner runs the ranch personally, but as an expert and enthusiastic hunter he usually finds the time to come hunting with us. In this Area we shoot over decoys from blinds in the shores of the countless small fresh water ponds existent both in “Santa Rita” and in the neighbor ranches. All of them at less than 30 minutes drive from the ranch |
This zone is to the west of Buenos Aires city, and is reached in a 4-hour drive in comfortable vans. Here we have two good houses that have been hosting our clients for at least thirteen years. The Estancia “Santa Rita” is the center of our operations in the zone, and the first estancia where we started hunting ducks many years ago, at the beginning of our hunting activity in the area.
The house is extremely cozy and perfectly equipped; it has good heating and
wonderful cuisine, which will help the hunters repair energies after a long day
of successful shooting, the rooms have two beds and only if the group is large
one bathroom will be shared every two
rooms.
The most common types of wild ducks in the area are: Brown Pintail, Speckled Teal, Silver Teal, Bahaman Pintail, Red Shoveler, Cinnamon Teal, Southern Widgeon, White Faced Tree Duck and of course the great Rosy Billed Pochard. |
